MBA / JD Program
The MBA/JD program is a joint degree offered by Windsor Law and the Odette School of Business, designed for students interested in the intersection of law, business, leadership, and policy. Graduates of the program gain both legal training and advanced business education, preparing them for careers in corporate law, consulting, entrepreneurship, public policy, and executive leadership.
Please consult the MBA/JD Handbook for the most current and detailed information on program structure, course sequencing, and administrative requirements.
Program Structure
The MBA/JD program allows students to pursue both degrees in a coordinated format, reducing overall completion time compared to pursuing each degree separately. Students complete a mix of law and business courses throughout the program, with sequencing determined by the Faculty of Law and the Odette School of Business.
Course schedules and timelines will be shared prior to the start of the academic year.
First-Year Experience
As an MBA/JD student, you will participate in Windsor Law’s first-year academic orientation. Depending on your course sequencing, you may also receive orientation information from the Odette School of Business.
You do not register for first-year law courses — your schedule will be created for you and distributed in advance. Business-school registration processes and timelines will be communicated separately when applicable.
Academics & Expectations
Students in the MBA/JD program benefit from:
Integrated legal and business perspectives
Exposure to corporate, commercial, regulatory, and financial frameworks
Opportunities to apply legal analysis within real-world business contexts
Because the program bridges two faculties, administrative processes may differ slightly between law and business. Students are encouraged to stay organized, monitor communications from both faculties, and ask questions early when unsure.
Support & Community
MBA/JD students have access to student supports across both faculties, including academic advising and student services. If you’re looking to connect with current students or need guidance navigating the program, the Vice President, Academic is a great first point of contact
