  • 1L’s can expect to receive your schedule in mid to late August, before Academic Orientation begins.

  • Timelines may vary depending on when class schedules are posted, which is typically in early September. If your student financial account does not yet reflect your current balance, there is no need to worry about making a payment before the deadline. As long as you submit your payment once your account has been updated, you will be in good standing.

    Tuition deadlines:

    • Fall term: August 15 (each year)

    • Winter term: December 15 (each year)

MSW/JD students: Please review your account details carefully. If you notice a duplicate charge for graduate or UWSA fees, contact cashiers@uwindsor.ca or call (519) 253-3000 ext. 3307 for assistance.

  • You can book an appointment with a law librarian during regular business hours, or meet with a student reference assistant in the evenings and on weekends. The law library provides support with legal research, writing, and citations.

  • It varies depending on the year and the course load, but most students study a little each day rather than all at once. If you’re unsure what’s normal or how to pace yourself, a peer mentor is a great resource for these kinds of questions.

  • First-year (1L) courses include tutorials that are run by the Academic Success Program to support skill development and course understanding. The Academic Success Program will be added to your Brightspace course list, where all announcements and tutorial schedules will be posted.

  • Academic Orientation takes place the week before 1L classes begin and is designed to help you feel prepared and confident. You’ll receive clear guidance on what to expect, including details about your first day of classes, there’s nothing you need to prepare in advance!
