Our Structure

Council Composition

The Students’ Law Society (SLS) is a student-run Council made up of elected representatives from across the law school. Council includes:

  • Year Representatives from each year of the Single and Dual JD programs

  • Student representatives from each year who sit on the Faculty Council

  • Members of the SLS Executive

Together, Council works to represent student interests and support academic, professional, and social life at the law school.

Executive & Committees

The SLS Executive is responsible for day-to-day leadership and strategic direction. It consists of:

  • President

  • Vice President, Finance

  • Vice President, Academic

  • Vice President, Events

  • Vice President, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

In addition, the SLS elects one student from each year to serve on the Discipline Committee. While these representatives are non-voting members of Council, they play an important role in supporting the school’s disciplinary process.

Election & Terms

SLS positions are filled through annual elections:

  • Law I Year Representatives are elected during the Fall election cycle

  • Executive positions are elected during the Spring election cycle

The 2025–2026 SLS Executive Team will assume office on April 1, 2025. Year Representatives for the 2025–2026 academic year will be elected in Fall 2025. More information will be shared soon.
